Julia Suzuki is author of the Land of Dragor childrens series …
Following a lifetime passion for adventure and fairytales her first novel ‘Yoshiko and the Gift of Charms’ was launched in hardback in 2011. Julia has always had a love of all things magical, and as a child grew up listening to the magical sounds of fair rides and animals from a theme park across the stream at the bottom of her garden. That upbringing, and a love of reading, nature and the outdoors fed her colourful imagination and inspired her to become an author.
As a Mother of a ten year old boy and a self confessed ‘little girl’ inside Julia loves to relate to the minds of children! She has proved herself to be popular with them, as success at Waterstones and the National Press have validated.
I find my happiness doing what I love to do – bringing joy to others. From a very early age Julia was drawn to dance, books and fashion. Julia went to the local ballet school and took her RAD exams and was privately tutored by a London School of Music examiner in Speech and Drama where she studied and recited literature. Her love of fashion design grew from mimicking her Mother, who self-made most of her clothes and influenced Julia to express uniqueness. Today Julia wears many of her own fashion designs. At the age of 18 Julia started modelling and still models today. Julia knew she wanted her own business and after leaving University in a business studies, french and creative writing degree she got the necessary experience and could not wait to launch her first business at 25. Julia launched her own beauty business and a promotions agency, acquiring a breadth of the very best clients, then two years later with a developing interest in property investment went into business with David Lloyd- the leisure and now property entrepreneur. Julia has since travelled widely across the world and gained vast property and cultural knowledge which influences her work.
