Dance

Julia Suzuki started dance lessons at the age of three, and still today believes that dance is the best medium for expression, release, healing and pleasure. She danced competitively throughout her childhood and teenage years and then in adulthood at many glamourous events until her business career took over. Still today Julia builds dance into her regular workout programme and gets out to dance wherever she can.

“You only have to look at dancers with their subtle curves and amazing physiques to realise that dance is the most natural form of exercise- using the natural weight resistance of ones own body to tone. Personally I find weights and artificial manmade machines not so fun or practical. The results of dance speak for themself. Every time you see a professional dancer on television you see perfect proportion and optimum fitness”

Julia’s second book in the Land of Dragor introduces dance through the children characters. This year a National competition sponsored by the Worlds largest holiday company operator ‘Spice’ and by Medichem International commences tied to the book.

A track called the Secret Dancer by songwriter Chris Onslow www.onlyoneguy.co.uk/secretdance.mp3 is linked to the book and competition.

“When I dance I forget any cares, I feel intune with the world and as though nothing matters but that present moment. I have no stress, no worries and feel truly alive. Dance is the only time when I feel an activity is not about the destination of reaching a goal, but about that moment, the here and now and that is a gift”

Julia’s Dream Dancer Competition is a National Event with current competitions scheduled throughout the UK to find dancers to play the part of the dragon girls and boys. Thousand of girlsĀ and boys are already registered.

The event is organiser by expert choreographer and teacher Juliet Short who manages the Mini Mezzos who were runners up in Britains Got Talent and provided all the dancework on the Nintendo Wii latest ‘Get up and Dance’ game.

“Whilst I appreciate ballet and the rigidity and discipline of perfection of a particular style, my joy is freestyle and modern- where you can see the free expression of personality, ones own choreography and the charisma unique to the individual more clearly than any other form.”

Julia also loves the glamour, makeup and artistic representation of dance and believes dance is important for all children to build confidence and self expression.
